For the second day in a row, Roseburg set a new record high temperature for the date, on Wednesday.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford said the mercury reached 98 degrees at the Roseburg Regional Airport. The previous record high for July 5th was 97 degrees, set in 1960.

Cooler weather is forecast for the near future in the Umpqua Valley with highs expected to be between the mid-80s and 90 degrees for the next week.
