Crews with the Douglas Forest Protective Association and Canyonville South Umpqua Fire District responded to a half-acre fire in the Canyonville area at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

A DFPA post said the fire was quickly knocked down and mop up began a short time later. Some smoke was visible in the area of the 100 block of North Gazley Road.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Fire danger is currently at High in the Douglas District.
