Motorists should expect weekday delays and lane closures on Hooker Road and Northeast Vine Street this summer after contractors began new water main installation this week.

A City of Roseburg release said the contractor is installing about 1,200 linear feet of water main pipes on Hooker Road. The project will also include replacing about 650 linear feet of existing water main on Vine Street from Newton Creek Road to Northeast Knoll Avenue.

The project is being paid for with money from the City’s Water Capital Improvements fund.

Work is taking place weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The project is expected to be completed in September.
