SUTHERLIN MAN JAILED, CHARGED WITH PAST THEFT FROM STORE

A Sutherlin man was jailed Monday and charged with a past theft from a store.

A Roseburg Police report said at 8:00 a.m. the 35-year old was contacted as the driver during a traffic stop near the corner of Southeast Jackson Street and Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard.

There was probable cause to charge the man with theft in the second-degree for stealing nearly $280 worth of items from a business in the 2100 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway on June 2nd.

The suspect was detained on the theft charge with bail set at $3,000. He was also cited driving while suspended-violation, driving uninsured, and for illegal alteration of registration plates.
