The Oregon Koi & Watergarden Society Pond Tour is happening this Saturday July 1st.

Over ten ponds, many that have never been seen by the public, will be on display.

Participants are invited to spend as much time as they would like at each pond, watching the gentle animals and talking with their owners. Adult admission is $5 per person, with kids getting in for free.

Some ponds are owned by Master Gardeners while others are built by people who have built them from scratch or rebuilt them for others. One of the exhibitor members builds ponds for residents around the county and has fish and equipment for sale.

Many of the ponds are in Roseburg but there are some in Sutherlin and Melrose. One pond is at the Dogwood Motel in Idylwood Park.

The tour will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Advance tickets are available at these locations:

*Sutherlin Visitors Center: Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

*Sutherlin Farmers Market: Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

*Sherm’s Thunderbird Market: Saturday morning from 8:00 am. to 11:00 a.m.

Tickets are available on the day of the event at the first pond, which is at 472 West Berdine Street in Roseburg.
