In the KQEN Business Spotlight:
Monday morning a rare event that happens only about every forty years will take place at Crater Lake National Park.
Katanacraft, a Grants Pass based company, will fly in three new forty-one-foot boats to Wizard Island by helicopter to provide visitors tours on Crater Lake.
A company release said in 2022, Katanacraft was selected by Crater Lake Hospitality to design and build the new boats for the park. Each boat was built with a strong focus on Crater Lake and the National Park’s foundational beliefs to protect wildlife and park lands, to preserve the history and culture of the area, and to connect people through an educational, yet up close and personal experience.
The release said each boat reflects the company’s commitment to creating a boat that is not only safe for passengers but is also eco-friendly.
Katanacraft CEO Travis Hamlyn said, “We are honored that our passion of building cutting edge boats, has allowed us to be part of Crater Lake history. Our team takes pride in knowing that visitors from all over the world will have a safe and memorable experience on-board our boats”.
Park visitors are welcome to watch the event on Monday morning at approximately 9:00 a.m.
