A Roseburg man was jailed following an alleged theft incident on Wednesday afternoon.
A Roseburg Police report said just after 2:30 p.m. the 34-year old was called in after he had allegedly stolen the tips from Dutch Bros in the 700 block of Northeast Garden Valley Boulevard. The suspect was contacted by a deputy with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, who attempted to detain him. The man resisted and was taken to the ground. The deputy said he was able to place a handcuff on the suspect and believed he was going to be compliant, but when he stood up the suspect, the man tried to pull away and was again taken to the ground.
The suspect had the cash in his hand at the time he was detained. The cash, a total of $18, was photographed and returned to Dutch Bros. The suspect was charged with third-degree theft and resisting arrest. He was detained without bail and was released Thursday morning.
