A Roseburg man was jailed after an alleged theft on Sunday night.

A Roseburg Police report said just after 7:30 p.m. the 27-year old was contacted after allegedly walking outside a business in the 2100 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway. The suspect had reportedly taken over $550 worth of merchandise. Officers found the suspect and recovered the property, which was released and returned to the business.

The man was charged with second-degree theft and detained on $4,000 bail.
