A Portland area transient was jailed after a stolen vehicle was recovered Thursday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s report said just after 3:30 p.m. deputies located the stolen pickup in the 200 block of Grant Smith Road near Green. The driver was a 24-year old man. The vehicle had been stolen out of California. The suspect was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and detained without bail.

He was released early Friday.
