Roseburg Police jailed a man following an alleged theft at a store on Wednesday.

The RPD report said just after 1:30 p.m. an officer contacted 31-year old Blake Cadger at Safeway in the 1500 block of Northeast Stephens Street. Cadger matched the description of a theft suspect from Abby’s Pizza nearby. Cadger reportedly admitted to the theft and became combative when the officer attempted to take him into custody.

Cadger allegedly swung at the officer, but was unsuccessful in striking the officer. Cadger was ultimately taken into custody and was found to have been previously trespassed from Safeway property.

Cadger was charged with third-degree theft, resisting arrest, attempted assault on a Public Safety Officer, criminal trespass, and offensive littering. Other charges were added. He was detained on $67,500 bail.
