A Roseburg man died in a vehicle accident on Highway 138E in the Toketee area Monday morning.

A report from Oregon State Police released Thursday, said at about 8:45 a.m. a pickup operated by 79-year old Donald Wade was traveling eastbound when, for unknown reasons, it veered off the right-hand shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle traveled approximately 360 feet down the dirt shoulder of the highway before coming to an uncontrolled rest in the ditch.

Wade was pronounced deceased at the scene. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. OSP was assisted by the Glide Rural Fire Protection District, the U.S. Forest Service and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
