DEPUTIES JAIL MAN FOR ALLEGED MENACING/HARASSMENT

Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a man for an alleged menacing and harassment incident on Tuesday.

A DCSO report said at 7:35 a.m. the 36-year old and a victim were involved in a physical altercation at a residence in the 200 block of Briggs Drive in Myrtle Creek. During the incident the suspect allegedly hit the victim in the arm and hand three or four times with a large wooden stick. The man then reportedly picked up a knife and held it toward the victim before lunging at her, forcing her to backpedal.

The victim advised that she was in fear of her life or serious physical injury during the altercation. The suspect was taken into custody and charged with menacing and harassment.  He was detained without bail.
