WOMAN JAILED, JUVENILE DETAINED FOLLOWING ALLEGED ASSAULT

A Myrtle Creek woman was jailed and a juvenile was detained following an alleged assault incident Sunday night.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at about 10:30 p.m. deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 900 block of North Old Pacific Highway in Myrtle Creek. The caller advised that he had been assaulted by a 38-year old woman and by a juvenile. The victim claimed the juvenile had pointed a shotgun at him.

After spending multiple hours investigating the incident, probable cause for the arrest of both suspects was developed. The shotgun was seized as evidence. The woman was charged with third-degree assault. She was held without bail and was released on Monday. The juvenile was detained for third-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and for menacing and was taken to juvenile detention.
