The suspect in the recent theft of a cell phone was charged on Friday.

A Roseburg Police report said at 1:30 p.m. 33-year old Christopher Hastings was interviewed while already in jail on other charges. Hastings admitted to the theft from a business in the 400 block of Southeast Stephens Street, on June 1st.

Charges of first-degree theft and second-degree criminal mischief were added to a parole violation charge for another case. Hastings detained without bail.
