The Ford Family Foundation recently recognized Aviva Health Family Medicine Physician Dr. Kanani Dilcher as a Rural Community Builder for what it called
“transformational work” to improve the health of north Douglas County residents, and volunteer efforts in the community.

According to The Ford Family Foundation, rural community builders care for people in need and aspire to make their communities a better place.

Mark Tsuchiya, marketing and development director at Aviva Health said, “Dr. Dilcher has had an indelible positive impact on our North County neighbors”. Tsuchiya said, “Whether it is caring for patients in our Drain clinic, coaching youth soccer, attending PTA meetings, or representing Aviva Health at local events, she has woven Aviva Health and herself into the fabric of the community and is truly worthy of this recognition”.

Dr. Dilcher began her journey to Aviva Health in January 2021 when she was tabbed as the dedicated provider for the organization’s North County Clinic located in Drain, Prior to the opening of that clinic, residents of Drain, Yoncalla and Elkton would have to travel to Cottage Grove, Eugene or Sutherlin for medical care. The clinic now offers family medicine services three days a week, providing much needed access to preventative health services.

Dr. Dilcher also serves as a core faculty member and associate program director for the Roseburg Family Medicine Residency Program, teaching resident physicians the intricacies of providing high-quality health care to rural communities.
