Pacific Power is urging customers to be safe and ready during wildfire season.

A release from the utility said as it is strengthening its system, actively managing vegetation, clearing right of ways and expanding weather monitoring abilities, it is asking customers to update their contact information and sign up for alerts.

To be prepared for the season:

*Prepare an outage kit, create defensible space and plan for medical needs

*Consider a backup generator if owning medical equipment that requires electricity

*Sign up for reverse notifications to get information if an emergency happens
