On Thursday, City of Roseburg officials reacted to the announcement that Rite Aid will close its downtown location next Tuesday.

Mayor Larry Rich said, “It happened to be the place I go for my pharmacy”. Rich said, “I wish I knew why. They haven’t said why. It’s the one that I always use because it’s close by. It’s really said. It’s another loss”.

City Manager Nikki Messenger said, “It’s unfortunate. They will be missed downtown”.

A Rite Aid spokesperson told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that the company has no plans to close additional store locations in the area at this time.
