On Friday, fire fighters from Roseburg Fire Department Local 1110 and Douglas County Fire District #2 Local 2091 will hit the streets for the annual Fill the Boot drive.

It is part of an effort to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association, which the International Association of Fire Fighters has been involved in since 1954. The longstanding tradition helps to fund research, care, and advocacy to empower people living with neuromuscular disease to achieve their potential.

Fire fighters will have boots in hand asking pedestrians, motorists, customers and others passing by to donate to MDA from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the intersection of Southeast Washington Street and Southeast Stephens Street.
