Sutherlin Police jailed a man for alleged menacing incidents on Thursday.

An SPD report said at 10:10 a.m. 29-year old Richard Grossman was allegedly pointing a gun at people as he walked down the sidewalk in the 1100 block of West Central Avenue. He was located later with the gun still in his possession. Grossman reportedly attempted to escape and resisted arrest. He was eventually apprehended and placed in custody.

Grossman was charged with menacing, second-degree disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and for third-degree escape. He was detained without bail.

The gun was a realistic looking BB gun, according to SPD.
