Douglas County Commissioners Tom Kress, Chris Boice and Tim Freeman want to remind residents that government offices in the county will be closed on Monday, in observance of Memorial Day.

A County release said that includes the courthouse, Justice Building, fairgrounds, museum, Courthouse Annex, transfer stations, landfill and all external county offices.

There are exceptions:

*The Umpqua River Lighthouse Museum will be open for normal business hours

*All county operated parks, campgrounds and boat ramps will be open and accessible

The release said even though the sheriff’s office lobby entrance will be closed on Monday, deputies, 911 communications and other Douglas County Sheriff’s Office staff will continue to provide law enforcement protection and emergency assistance for residents.
