A log truck driver was hospitalized after an accident on Interstate 5 Friday morning.

A report from Oregon State Police said just after 9:20 a.m. a truck was northbound about three miles south of Glendale, traveling at about forty miles per hour when the driver of a log truck failed to slow down and his vehicle struck the rear of the first truck.

The log truck went into the median cable barrier, coming to rest on its driver side, with loose logs in the median. The driver was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center with visible injuries.

A tow company removed the log truck. The trailer of the first truck was damaged, but was able to be driven away.

Northbound freeway traffic in the area of the accident was delayed for a time while the crash scene was cleaned up.
