ELECTION DATA UPDATED FOR DOUGLAS COUNTY

The Douglas County Elections Division has updated information on the results of the May Special Districts Election.

As of mid-morning Friday, 19,194 ballots had been counted. The turnout is now just under 22 percent of those eligible to vote.

The race for Position 2 at Large for the Douglas Education Service District remains close. Barbara Crawford had 49.48 percent of the vote, to 49.21 percent for Chris Rusch. That is a difference of only 33 votes.

While percentages have shifted slightly, there is no change to the results for the City of Roseburg Charter Amendment or for the Roseburg School District bond levy proposal. The amendment is passing by a margin of 62 percent in favor and 38 percent opposed. The levy is failing with 55 percent opposed and 45 percent in favor.

Ballots that were postmarked by Tuesday continue to be counted. The election should be finalized on June 12th.
