Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a Roseburg area man for an alleged assault on Wednesday afternoon.

A DCSO report said just after 3:45 p.m. 49-year old Jerimy Williams and a victim were in a verbal disturbance in the 1000 block of Ridge Avenue, just north of Roseburg. Williams reportedly decided to charge at the victim and took her to the ground, allegedly causing an injury.

Williams did not want to talk with deputies and was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with fourth-degree assault, strangulation, harassment and for a parole violation. Williams was jailed without bail.
