COOLING TREND STARTS IN UMPQUA VALLEY

After several days above or near 90 degrees, the Umpqua Valley is seeing a cooling trend, beginning Thursday.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that the mercury reached 91 degrees at the Roseburg Regional Airport on Wednesday. That was not a record for the date. The record high for May 17th was 99 degrees, reached in 2008.

With high temperatures of 94, 88, 89, 95 and 93 degrees over the past few days, the region is slated to cool by around 10 degrees for the next week.

Roseburg is forecast to hit 82 degrees Thursday and 81 degrees on Friday.
