THIRD YEAR RESIDENTS PASS BOARDS, CAPSTONE PROJECTS WEDNESDAY

May 17, 2023 3:20 a.m.

Aviva Health has announced that all eight third year Roseburg Family Medicine Residency Program physicians have successfully passed their Boards and are eligible for certification by the American Board of Family Medicine.

The residency, which launched in 2020, is a partnership between Aviva Health and CHI Mercy Medical Center.

Aviva Chief Executive Officer KC Bolton said, “These eight doctors were the very first to join our residency program and have trained over the last three years in Douglas County, learning to practice rural family medicine”. Bolton said, “We’re very proud of their accomplishments and the contributions they’ve made to our community”.

The release said over the three years of their residency, the eight doctors were responsible for nearly 11,000 patient visits. They began the residency training in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and were instrumental in providing inpatient and ambulatory care to several Douglas County residents diagnosed with the virus.

On Wednesday, each of the eight residents will present their capstone projects in poster format at a symposium being held on the Aviva Health Roseburg campus, on Northeast Kenneth Ford Drive. The event will run from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and is open to the public.

The residency will welcome its fourth class of doctors next month. They’ll join 16 other resident physicians currently training in the program.
