A woman was cited for second-degree child neglect by Roseburg Police Friday night.

An RPD report said shortly before 8:00 p.m. officers contacted a juvenile as he was sitting alone in the passenger seat of a vehicle in the 900 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard. The 54-year old woman was inside the store shopping and had left him alone. The mother was contacted and told officers she was unaware that it was illegal to leave children unattended,

She was released after the citation was issued.
