Roseburg Police jailed a man for an alleged strangulation incident early Saturday morning.

An RPD report said just after 2:30 a.m. officers responded to a residence in the 2000 block of West Military Avenue after a caller said an assault was taking place. Officers learned the 43-year old had allegedly squeezed a victim and applied enough pressure to her chest to impede her normal breathing and make her urinate herself. The victim showed officers multiple bruises on her arms and chest and said they came from the man biting and squeezing her.

The suspect was charged with a felony count of strangulation and for harassment. The man was detained without bail.
