A Flood Watch is in effect from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday for much of southern Oregon.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service flash flooding caused by excessive rain is possible.

The Watch area includes central Douglas County and its eastern foothills, Jackson County, the Klamath Basin, and the Southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains. This includes Steamboat, Toketee Falls, Diamond Lake and Crater Lake.

Forecasters said excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Recently burned areas including the Archie Creek burn scar may have an enhanced risk for flash flooding. Area highways could be impacted by flash flooding as well as rock slides and landslides, especially near burn scars and creeks and streams.
