Two people were injured in a moped versus battery powered skateboard collision on Thursday afternoon.

A Roseburg Police report said the accident took place just after 4:40 p.m. on the multi-use path just west of Gaddis Park, and just below a blind corner. An investigation substantiated that the moped was traveling on the path illegally, while the skateboard was legal there if operated at pedestrian speeds.

Both riders were knocked unconscious and were transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center. The skateboard rider was transferred to PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend in Springfield. He was listed in fair condition at last check by a hospital spokesperson.

The wreck is still under investigation by RPD.
