A woman was taken to the hospital following a two-vehicle wreck on Interstate 5 Wednesday afternoon.

An Oregon State Police report said just before 5:30 p.m. a sports car was traveling southbound and was passing other vehicles in the right lane at about 75 miles per hour. The sports car hydroplaned and crashed into the center barrier and then into a southbound sedan near the summit of Robert’s Mountain.

Two witnesses said they were in the fast lane going about fifty-eight miles per hour when the sports car passed them while in the slow lane. The driver of the sports car lost control of it shortly after that.

The driver of the sports car, a 35-year old woman, was taken to CHI Mercy Medical Center by family members, due to minor injuries. The sedan was towed from the scene while the sports car was able to be driven away.  The driver of the vehicle who caused the crash was cited by OSP.
