5-11-2023 7:00 a.m.

The Oregon State Police, along with other agencies, are asking for help from the public in locating a wanted man.

38-year-old William Thomas Gillespie of Cave Junction, is wanted by OSP, the U.S. Marshals Service, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tabaco Firearms and Explosives for questioning regarding the May 2022 homicide of Daniel Guess, as well as separate January 2023 incident involving felony assault, robbery, kidnapping, and strangulation.

In both cases, the crimes in question took place in Cave Junction.

Additionally, Gillespie is wanted on a felony Federal warrant.

Gillespie is described as 6’2” and approximately 200 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes.

He has visible tattoos including the word “infidel” above his right eyebrow, a fishhook tattoo below his left eye, and a demon head tattoo on his throat covering both sides of his neck.

He may also have visible facial pricings, but officials said he may attempt to change his appearance in an effort to elude law enforcement.

Officials said Gillespie is to be considered armed and very dangerous. Do not attempt to contact this person directly, and alert authorities immediately.

A reward of up to $2,500 is being offered for information leading to Gillespie’s arrest and conviction. Anyone with information as to Gillespie’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Oregon State Police at 1-800-442-2068, or here.
