ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN AFTER ALLEGED DOWNTOWN INCIDENT

Roseburg Police jailed a man after an alleged downtown incident on Tuesday.

An RPD report said just before 7:00 p.m. the 38-year old was called in by a citizen for yelling at people near the corner of Southeast Jackson Street and Southeast Cass Avenue. An officer contacted the suspect who was allegedly drinking alcohol.

The officer knew the man was on parole and had a no alcohol stipulation. His parole officer wanted him detained for the violation.

The suspect was charged with drinking in public and for a parole violation. He was detained without bail.
