Robotics expo planned for May 13 at Roseburg High School

A showcase and celebration of robotics will be held May 13 at Roseburg High School.

The FIRST Robotics Spring Expo will take place in the school’s gymnasium from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and feature robotic demonstrations and competitions from FIRST LEGO League and FIRST Tech Challenge Teams.

The expo will also provide a chance for the community to celebrate two Oregon teams that competed and won trophies at the FIRST World Championship in Houston, Texas last month, FTC Team Aries and FTC Team Overcharged.

There will also be STEAM demonstrations and a chance to visit with local technology companies, including 7Robotics and Con-Vey Keyston, at the Innovation Faire. The Roseburg Police Department will also attend with their Transcend Robot and the OSU Robotics Club will be on hand for demonstrations.

The event is open to the public. Dutch Bros. coffee will be available in the morning and Relished Dog and Wai Lani food trucks will be available for lunch in the afternoon.

The expo is sponsored by the Laurel Avenue Scottish Rite Masonic Lodge.
