Douglas County Clerk Daniel Loomis released an update Wednesday night on the 2023 Douglas County May Special Districts Election participation rate.

So far, 3,214 residents have cast a ballot, totaling a little over 3.6% of registered voters in the county.

That number lags nearly 1.7% behind the participation rate for the same point in the 2021 Douglas County May Special Districts Election.

Loomis is reminding voters to check ballots carefully before sending them in, or dropping them off as you cannot change your vote after your ballot has been returned.
