Man cited for cutting down City of Roseburg tree

The Roseburg Police Department cited a 31-year-old man on Monday for cutting down a tree that was property of the City of Roseburg.

The Roseburg resident allegedly used a chainsaw to shop down a tree near a transient camp under the Stewart Parkway bridge. RPD says the man planned to use the tree for firewood and a ramp.

The tree is reportedly city property and the man was cited and released on a charge of second degree criminal mischief.
