Significant hail on the roadway led to an accident on Highway 138E on Wednesday afternoon.

An Oregon State Police report said at 12:25 p.m. an SUV was westbound about 9 miles east of Roseburg. The driver, a 47-year old man, encountered the hail and lost control of his vehicle.  The SUV went off the westbound shoulder and struck a guardrail. The vehicle came to an uncontrolled rest in the ditch. The driver and his passenger were not injured.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.
