A driver eluded a deputy during an overnight chase early Friday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just after 12:30 a.m. a deputy attempted to stop an SUV pulling a trailer after the suspect tried to ditch him through the side streets of Glendale.

The vehicle failed to yield and a pursuit was initiated. The pickup continued out Mount Reuben Road onto Rattlesnake Road. Approximately a half mile from Lower Wolf Creek and Water Tank Road the pursuit was terminated due to a downed tree. The suspect drove under the tree which hit the passenger side roof, possibly breaking the windshield.

A deputy with the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office checked the Wolf Creek area but was unable to locate the pickup.
