Wet roads contributed to two freeway accidents on Monday night.

An Oregon State Police report said just after 7:00 p.m. a vehicle was traveling south bound in the fast lane on Interstate 5 about a half-mile north of the summit of Roberts Mountain when it hydroplaned and struck the guardrail. The driver, a woman from California, was able to drive the vehicle from the scene.

At about 10:20 p.m. a single-vehicle crash occurred on I-5 northbound near the Edenbower Boulevard exit. The operator of a sedan, a Eugene woman, lost control of her vehicle under wet road conditions. The vehicle exited the right-hand shoulder of the freeway and struck a chain link fence- causing damage to about 50 feet of it. The sedan sustained heavy right-side damage. The driver was given a warning for failure to drive within a lane. The vehicle was towed away.
