The City of Oakland has an open position on its city council.
City Recorder Carolyn Shields told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that VIctoria Kietzman resigned at the special March 28th council meeting because she had moved and no longer lived inside the Oakland city limits. Her resignation was effective April 1st.
This volunteer position is for serving the community at large. It will begin upon appointment by the council and run through the end of 2026. Regular council terms last for four years,

The closing date to receive applications is 5:00 p.m. on April 28th.
