Glide School District Board Chair Candice Voynick and Vice-Chair Megan Masiel have resigned.

Jan Leroue of the district’s administration office said the formal resignations were received prior to the board’s meeting Wednesday night. Leroue said the remaining board members will be developing a plan to recruit potential candidates to fill those vacancies. Board member Dan Metz will assume the role of board chair until the next regular meeting on April 19th.

Voynick was facing an effort to recall her from the board. Chief Petitioner Abigail Malek had begun that in late March and was still collecting signatures. Malek claimed that Voynick had violated board policies.

News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN has reached out to Voynick, Masiel and Malek seeking comment on the resignations.
