Thrive Umpqua is celebrating National Walking Day with a walk around Ford’s Pond in Sutherlin Thursday evening starting at 5:30 p.m.

The 2-mile route will take participants around the entire pond. Friends of Fords Pond will have information about plans for additional development at the park on display, including the latest plans for a playground area. They will also have information about bench locations which can be donated through the City of Sutherlin.

Dogs on leashes are welcome to join humans for the event.

Thrive Umpqua will have giveaways and prizes for those walking as well.
