The Roseburg Fire Department is conducting its annual fire hydrant flushing through June 30th.

Hydrants are being flushed seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

A City release said during the flushing process, water customers may experience low water pressure or discolored water. While the water is safe to drink, residents may prefer to run the water until it turns clear before drinking the water or washing clothes or dishes.

RFD said the hydrant flushing program is necessary to ensure the proper functioning and delivery of adequate water from the city’s water mains when needed for fire control.
