A driver was cited when his pickup hit a school bus on Tuesday.

A Roseburg Police report said just after 3:30 p.m. the bus was eastbound in the right lane of travel in the 1300 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard with eight students on board. The other driver, an 83-year old man, was westbound in the left lane of travel. The pickup driver attempted to make a left turn into the parking lot of a store when he misjudged the turn, causing him to pull out in front of the school bus, which was operated by an Umpqua Valley Christian School driver.

The school bus received damage to the front bumper. The pickup had damage to the passenger bed side. The impact caused the camper shell to be dislodged from the bed of the truck, which landed in the store’s parking lot.

No one in either vehicle was injured. The driver of the pickup was cited for making a dangerous left turn. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.
