PAIR JAILED AFTER BURGLARY INVESTIGATION

Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed two people following a burglary investigation on Saturday.

A DCSO report said at 5:35 p.m. a deputy responded after someone said there was a burglary in progress in the 8000 block of Rice Valley Road in the Oakland area. The deputy made contact with a pair of individuals who were standing in front of the home. Both admitted to not knowing who owned the property and to taking items from the property. 47-year old Karen Markley admitted to breaking the door on a shed to gain access.

Markley also admitted to taking property from the same location on March 25th. She was held on 8 charges including two counts each of first-degree trespass, second-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief, and third-degree theft. She was detained without bail.

41-year old Ronald Hiner was held for first-degree trespass, third-degree theft and for a parole violation. He was detained without bail.
