A Green area man was jailed following an alleged strangulation incident on Saturday morning.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 8:30 a.m. a victim said the 25-year old had gotten upset with her, pushed her out of a bathroom, and down the stairs in the 5000 block of Lance Street. The victim claimed the suspect followed her down the stairs where he proceeded to strangle her with both hands to the point she believed she was going to pass out. The victim said two minor children were in the home and witnessed the event.

A deputy contacted the man who claimed that he and the victim had argued and he had pushed her back. He denied that the victim had fallen down the stairs or that he put his hands on her neck. The suspect was taken into custody and charged with a felony count of strangulation and with harassment.

The man was detained without bail.
