CHI MERCY UPDATES VISITING HOURS AND POLICIES

CHI Mercy Medical Center is updating its visiting hours and policies effective April 3rd.

The Oregon Health Authority has ended the mandatory COVID masking requirements for healthcare facilities. Masks are no long required on the Mercy campus for visitors, employees or patients. Anyone can choose to wear a mask at their discretion. Visitors are expected to comply with Mercy’s current infection control practices as appropriate, which may include the use of facial masks at times.  If a visitor is displaying respiratory symptoms, such as a cough, they may be asked to wear a mask while in the facility.

*Visiting hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. in all units

*Outpatients are allowed 1 visitor per day per patient unless the patient has a disability that requires assistance

*Inpatients hospital-wide are allowed 2 visitors at a time

*Emergency Department patients may have 1 visitor at a time. Due to spacing, 1 visitor at a time in the patient exam room

*Pediatric patients may have 2 guardians whether they are in the ED or Pediatric Unit

For the Family Birthplace:

*Visiting hours are also from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. unless the patient is in active labor. In that case there are no visiting hour restrictions

*The patient is allowed 4 visitors at a time and siblings are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult at all times

*Overnight stays are for the support person only. Surrogate or adoptive parents are allowed to provide infant care

*Special Care Nursery: Visitors are restricted to parents only
