WINTER STORM WARNING/WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR REGION

April 2, 2023 6:00 a.m.

A Winter Storm Warning above 2,500 feet and a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect through 5:00 a.m. Monday for much of southern Oregon.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said for the Warning area, heavy snow is expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches. For the Advisory area between 1,500 feet and 2,500 feet, 2 to 9 inches of snow is forecast.

The Warning area applies to central Douglas County, Josephine County, eastern Curry County and the south-central Oregon coast. The Advisory area includes Azalea, Glendale and O’Brien.

Colder air will arrive Sunday night into Monday with a higher risk of road snow in the same areas. Travel is strongly discouraged because of dangerous conditions.
