The Douglas County Sheriff Office is conducting training sessions for its staff through Thursday at two Green area schools.

This will take place at Green and Sunnyslope elementary schools from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Sheriff John Hanlin said due to the nature of the training, it may appear that there is an emergency at the schools. Hanlin said DCSO is taking advantage of the Roseburg School District’s spring break to conduct maintenance training on the campuses related to active threat responses. There are signs at the schools indicating that the training is an exercise.

Hanlin said as always, the men and woman of DCSO strive to daily uphold their core values of efficiency in their work, commitment to the highest performance standards and pride in their professional level of service. He said the training sessions are just one of the ways that this is accomplished.
