Roseburg Police jailed a man for an alleged assault Friday night.

An RPD report said just after 6:30 p.m. officers responded to a suspicious medical aid call in the 3300 block of Northwest Broad Street. The caller claimed a victim had fallen and had hurt herself. The investigation concluded that the caller had pushed the victim because he wanted her debit card.

The 52-year old was charged with fourth-degree assault and first-degree criminal mistreatment. He was held without bail.
