Roseburg Police jailed a California man following a chase Saturday afternoon.

An RPD report said just before 5:00 p.m. dispatch advised that they got a call regarding a stolen vehicle being tracked on Interstate 5 northbound in the Roberts Mountain area. Officers spotted the vehicle as it came through Roseburg and initiated a traffic stop near the Winchester exit. The sedan continued and pursuit was started. The vehicle went down multiple roads in the Wilbur area until spike strips were successfully deployed. The driver continued on until law enforcement pinned it in at the intersection of Deady Crossing and Highway 99. The 23-year old driver was detained without further incident. He was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and attempting to elude a police officer.  The driver was held without bail.
